The
Episcopal delegate for Religious is mandated to address
matters pertaining to the Religious within the Archdiocese
and represents the archbishop for ongoing dialogue
with female and male religious of the Archdiocese
who are not priests.
The Episcopal delegate for Religious
facilitates meetings between the Religious of the
Archdiocese, arranges for general assemblies for
Religious and brings concerns of the Religious
to the attention of the Archbishop. About The Episcopal Delegate For Religious
Sr
Adriana Noel O Carm is the Episcopal Delegate for
Religious and principal of St Charles High School
in Tunapuna.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts
Degree in the Philosophy of Education from the University
of Birmingham, a Teacher’s Diploma in Education,
an Advanced Diploma in Educational Administration
from the University of Leeds and several certificates
in Management from the Moray School of Education
in Scotland. She became a professed
Carmelite Sister in May 1st 1962 and has served
as principal of two private primary schools in
Grenada and Guyana. From 1972 to 1976 and again
from 1986 to 1992 she served as the Local Prioress
in two Carmels. She served her congregation on
the General Council from 1984 to 1996 and on the
Regional Council from 1996 to 2001.
In 1989 she was appointed
Regional Coordinator for the Lay Carmelites and
established the National Council to coordinate
the affairs of the General body, to encourage and
guide the membership along their spiritual journey.
She is a member of the Archdiocesan
Pastoral Council and is currently Assistant General
of the local Carmelite Congregation. From 1984 to
2002 she has been actively involved in Parochial
Ministries at the St Borromeo Parish in Tunapuna.
She brings to the post of Episcopal Delegate For
Religious her years of experience in Religious life
